Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds ripe nectarines (about 3 from Costco)
- 1 cup sugar (may very, depending on ripeness of nectarines)
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 cup orange juice (or rum, which I used)
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
Instructions:
- Pit nectarines, cut into 1/8ths (leaving peels on is fine)
- Process in a Vitamin or food processor
- Add sugar, salt, orange juice or rum, and lime juice - process some more
- Mix in a ice cream maker for 20 minutes (or follow directions)
Carole's Notes:
The flavor was very nice. However, this recipe did not freeze up in our small Krups mixer - maybe due to the rum.We packed it and froze it, and then it turned into sorbet. Many days later it was still a soft sorbet.
The recipe is lightly adapted from http://www.thekitchn.com/summers-end-nectarine-sorbet-126136
