Black Forest Black Bottom Cupcakes

I needed to do a bit more baking before the kitchen remodeling. I wanted to make one last treat for Emily - so I made Black Forest Black-Bottom cupcakes. (She loves Black Forest cake, and I wanted a portable version...)

Cherry Topped Chocolate Mini Muffins

I bought some tart dried cherries at Costco for Doug for ice cream add ins. He did not appear very enthusiastic - I think he really wanted sweet cherry syrup. So I decided make some mini Cherry Topped Chocolate Sourdough Muffins with part of them.

Peach and Cherry Shortbread Bars

I wanted a dessert for Sunday that would use peaches. I found an interesting recipe at Smitten Kitchen, and made Peach and Cherry Shortbread Bars.

Cherry Hand Pies

I wanted to bake something for Doug and Alex to have at the start of their camping trip to the Grand Tetons. I also had been thinking about last month's BakeAlong at King Arthur, so I made Cherry Hand Pies.

Cherry Clafoutis

I saw a recipe for a 'simply delicious cherry dessert' the same morning I had some cherries thawing.
I decided I needed a cherry pitter, and since Amazon would not deliver today, I went shopping.
I now own a cherry pitter, and have made my first clafoutis.

Chocolate Cherry Focaccia

Time for a potluck dessert -- I decided to make another sweet sourdough flatbread. This one is a Chocolate Cherry Focaccia. It uses the about same base dough as my recent Apple Cinnamon Flatbread, but I did not make up the dough the night before.

Frosted Mini Chocolate Cakes (with Loquat and Cherries)

I was trying to use some frozen loquats. I had about 10 cups frozen. I thawed them in 1 cup of water in a large pot for a few minutes, and then pitted them (just by cutting of blossom end and squishing out seeds). I mixed in 2 cups of frozen sweet cherries, and about 1/2 cup of sugar. I cooked the fruit up a bit to reduce it - still seemed very thin. I decided to use it as a glaze on some mini chocolate cakes.

Cherry Vanilla Butter Spritz Cookies

So when you get a new cookie press, I feel you kind of have to make new cookies using the new disks you have. So, hearts for Valentine's Day.

Mini Cherry Pies

Winn Dixie had a sale on cherries -- and Ben and Brandi were coming to visit.
Brandi and I made cherry mini pies as well as coconut custard mini pies. (Ben is responsible for eating most of the cherry ones.)

Chocolate Cherry Challah

My husband is funny. I told him I was making a chocolate cherry challah.
He asked why.
Well, because we have a pound of chocolate covered cherries to use up, and I wanted to try a new recipe from my new cookbook. (This is just a slight variation from the recipe, I am really liking my new Smitten Kitchen cookbook...)
