Overnight Sourdough Bread

It's a round food baking day! (Doug is off camping with the scouts, so the kitchen is getting a work out..)

Last night I made up a sponge that I decided this morning to split between this bread and some Mini Chocolate Sourdough Muffins. I baked this bread in a Dutch oven to give it a crunchy crust.

Cheesy Sausage and Spinach Stuffed Shells

I made an impulse buy of some large pasta shells. I was planning to make classic stuffed shells, but Doug asked for some meat in them.  I obliged, here are the Cheesy Spinach and Sausage shells that came together for dinner tonight.

Cherry Lattice Pie

Since my mom was visiting, Ben and Brandi were coming to up as well, my mom and I wanted to make a cherry pie since  I decided to try a new recipe and also make a lattice top.

Thai Chicken in Peanut Sauce (Chicken Praram)

Pecan Pie

So it is Pi Day. I thought Doug would like pecan pie, which I have not made in a long while. This version has a bit of bourbon for flavoring, and some chocolate on part of it (for me!)

Paczki (Polish Doughnuts)

Earlier this week Katie shared that it was Paczki Day, but I was on an out-of-town business trip.
So I looked up some recipes for ideas, and today I made baked paczki.
(Paczki are kind of filled Polish doughnuts, pronounced  kind of like "punch-key".)



I made two sizes - these are the smaller paczki that I baked these in a mini muffin pan.)

I decided to make both blackberry filled paczki and chocolate filled paczki.
