Marinade for Grilled Chicken

Trying out a new marinade recipe for grilled chicken.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
    (I used smoky paprika)
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon tarragon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Mix spices in a large ziplock bag.
  2. Add in oil and viengar, squish around to mix.
  3. Add 2 chicken breast, and cover well with marinade.
  4. Press air out of bag.
  5. Let marinate for 30 minutes to an hour, spreading marinade over chicken every 10 or 15 minutes.
  6. Grill normally, maybe 5 minutes per side depending on heat of your charcoal.

Carole's Notes:

I liked this, but Doug thought it was a little too intense.
The recipe above is my plan for next time - I decreased the thyme and tarragon amounts.

The recipe is an mix of http://addapinch.com/best-grilled-chicken-marinade-recipe/ and http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/marinated-chicken-breasts-recipe.html a
