Sweet and Spicy Potluck Meatballs

Ben asked for my potluck meatball recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 14 oz of ketchup (store brand works fine)
  • 16 oz grape jelly (store brand works fine)
  • ~ 3 pounds meatballs (use about 1/2 large bag from Costco)
  • 1 1/2  teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • A few dashes Tabasco sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Heat ketchup & jelly in a large pot, melting jelly.
  3. Stir in chili powder & garlic.
  4. Toss in a few dashes Tabasco sauce.
  5.  Place about 3 pounds pre-cooked frozen meatballs in a large baking dish (9 x 13 pan)
  6. Pour sauce over meatballs (cover pan with foil)
  7. Bake until warm (stir a couple of times to cover all meatballs with sauce)

Depending on the crowd, serve with sliced small dinner rolls. (These are popular with rugby players.)

Carole's Notes:

You can also defrost the meatballs some, and place in a crock pot with the sauce for a couple of hours on high. Stir occasionally.
