Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon

I wanted to try a new salmon recipe to make with my mom. (She likes seafood.) I found a honey glazed salmon recipe which we made up.

Ingredients:

Salmon:
  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
Sauce:
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar)

Instructions:

  1. Pat salmon dry, then season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Set aside.
  2. Adjust oven rack to middle position, then preheat broiler.
  3. Add butter and oil to a large, oven-safe skillet over MED-HIGH heat.
  4. After butter is melted, add garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey and lemon juice and cook 30 seconds or so, until sauce is heated through.
  5. Add salmon, (skin side down if using salmon with skin), and cook 1 minutes. While salmon cooks, baste frequently with sauce from the pan by spooning it over the top of the salmon.
  6. Flip salmon, cook to 1 minute more, still basting with sauce,
  7. Broil salmon for  2 or 3 minutes, basting with sauce once before and after broiling.

Carole's Notes:

Mom, Doug, and I all liked this. We had it with asparagus, barley, and carrots.
