Smoky Tuna Cheese Ball

Doug suggested I 'make' something with some tuna-in-a-pouch he bought to demonstrate backpacking food.  I also had some cream cheese to use up, so I came up with this Smoky Tuna Cheese Ball to share with some friends tomorrow.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pouch (6 oz) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1/4 cup minced Vidalia onions
  • 1/2 teaspoons Liquid smoke
(I might use 1 teaspoon Liquid smoke for a smoky flavor next time.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons kale, minced finely (or use parsley)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (You could use smoky paprika)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

Instructions:

  1. In food processor or bowl, combine tuna, smoke flavor, and spices.
  2. Mix in onions and then cream cheese.
  3. Form into ball and chill for several hours or overnight.

Carole's Notes:

I liked this! I think the smoky part makes it quite yummy!

Everyone at today's meeting seemed to like it as well!
