Taco Rolls

I needed to use my sourdough starter for something, and we had some leftover taco meat. I decided to make Taco Rolls.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound hamburger (already spiced for tacos)
  • 8 ounces cheddar, shredded
  • 7 ounce can green chilis
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced

Instructions:

  1. Make up bread dough through first rise.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray one 9 x 13 casserole pan with cooking spray (you may use a 6 well cupcake pan as well)
  3. Pat out on on floured surface and make a 10 x 15 rectangle.
  4. Sprinkle dough with taco meat, cheese,  green chilis, and tomatoes.
  5. Starting with the long edge, roll up taco fillings into a log. Seal the long edge.
  6. Slice log into 12 or 16 even sections with a sharp knife.
  7. Place twelve slices into the 9 x 13 pan, and let rise until doubled, about an hour.
(if you use the cupcake pan, slice into 16 pieces and place 4 in cupcake pan)

  8. Sprinkle additional cheese on top of each roll.  Bake for 35 to 30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown.
