Ingredients:
- 2 racks of ribs (from Costco)
- 1/4 cup barbecue rub (optional - I had some and used it)
- 1/2 cup Baby Ray's barbecue sauce (or your favorite sauce)
- 1/2 cup orange juice (optional)
Optional Rub Ingredients (for 1 rack, double for 2 racks):
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Rub marinade on the meaty side of the ribs.
- Place ribs meat side down in a baking pan, brushing the top side of ribs with the barbecue sauce. Stack the ribs as needed. Pour in orange juice if using.
(I used a disposal aluminum pan for easier clean up) - Seal the pan well with heavy duty aluminum foil.
(If using a disposal pan, place a sturdy baking sheet under pan.) - Bake for 3 to 3.5 hours.
- Drain ribs (or place ribs on another pan meaty side up. Baste ribs with more barbecue sauce.
- Let bake 30 minutes or so uncovered.
(Or broil for 5 to 10 minutes to thicken and carmalize the barbecue sauce.)
Carole's Notes:
Make sure you have 4 hours to cook the ribs slowly. Doug, Alex, and Mom all like these a lot. (I am not so much a ribs fan, but they are very good for ribs.) Serve with green salad and potato salad (such as https://carolelikesroundfood.blogspot.com/2016/07/potato-salad.html)
