Ingredients:
- 30 grams self rising flour
- 75 grams "Baker's" sugar
(not powdered, I used regular sugar whirred for 30 seconds in a mini cuisinart) - 150 grams unsalted butter
- 150 grams semi-sweet chocolate (I used chocolate chips)
- 3 eggs
Instructions:
- Grease AirFryer pan. (I used my larger one that is about 3" high)
- Melt dark chocolate and butter in a microwave safe bowl at medium high power for 3 minutes, stirring every minute or so. Remove from microwave and stir until smooth.
- Whisk/beat the eggs and sugar until pale and frothy with electric beater.
- Pour a little of melted chocolate mixture into egg mixture to temper.
Add rest of chocolate mix, then stir in flour. Stir to combine everything evenly. - Fill the pan less then 3/4 full with cake mixture, and bake in preheated air fryer at 375F for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for 2 minutes. Carefully turn pan upside down onto serving plate, tapping the bottom with a utensil to loosen edges as needed. Cake should release from pan with little effort and center will appear gooey.
- If needed, microwave for 10 - 30 seconds to further cook. (You will lose lava.)
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Carole's Notes:
We all liked this! The recipe is lightly adapted from https://www.lifestinymiracles.com/2013/12/cooking-with-air-the-healthier-choice/ - my recipe above also upped the amounts by 50% to make 4 servings.
