Ingredients:
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14-ounce)
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa powder (I plan to use 1/2 cup next time)
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter, plus extra to grease plate and hands
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Melt butter in a heavy non-stick saucepan.
- Whisk the condensed milk and cocoa powder together until there are no lumps.
- Add milk mix to saucepan, heat over medium-low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to peel away from bottom of the pan (maybe 8 to 12 minutes).
- When ready, the fudge mix will be thick enough to show the bottom of the pan for a couple of seconds before the mixture levels out again.
- Remove from heat, mix in the vanilla extract.
- Spread mixture onto a lightly greased plate.
- Allow to cool to room temperature (you may also chill in the refrigerator.)
- Scoop about 1/2 tablespoon of fudge, and roll into balls between lightly greased hands.
- Gently roll balls in sprinkles or cocoa until covered, and place into paper bonbon cups.
- Keep refrigerated until you serve them.
Carole's Notes:
These turned out very sweet and soft - probably too sweet for me. Children would probably like them, especially with the sprinkles. I think I will use more cocoa (1/2 cup instead of 1/4 cup) in them if I make them again.Lightly adapted from http://www.easyanddelish.com/brigadeiro-brazil-chocolate-fudge-truffles/
