Green Beans with Bacon


I was looking for a way to use canned green beans with dinner, and added some bacon.

  

Ingredients:

  • 2 strips of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon oil (as needed)
  • 1/2 cup onion, sliced in thin strips
  • optional - leftover mushroom stems, diced small
  • 1 can green beans, drained and patted dry

Instructions:

  1. Saute the bacon in a skillet until crisp, and then dice. Place to the side on a small plate.
  2. Saute the onion (and mushroom pieces) in 1 tablespoon of oil or bacon fat until translucent
  3. Add in green beans, heat until warm
  4. Sprinkle in bacon bits, stir and sever.

I liked this much better than green beans straight from a can!
