Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Place the green beans in the pot, and cook briefly until bright green, removing after 3 to 4 minutes.
- Drain the beans, and rinse with cold water. Dump the rinsed beans on a kitchen towel and pat dry.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Stir in the horseradish and garlic, and cook until golden brown. (about 30 seconds)
- Mix in the chili flakes.
- Add the green beans to the skillet, and season with the salt and sugar.
- Cook and stir 8 - 12 minutes, or until tender. Season with pepper to serve.
