I needed to use my sourdough starter for something, and we had some leftover taco meat. I decided to make Taco Rolls.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound hamburger (already spiced for tacos)
- 8 ounces cheddar, shredded
- 7 ounce can green chilis
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
Instructions:
- Make up bread dough through first rise.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray one 9 x 13 casserole pan with cooking spray (you may use a 6 well cupcake pan as well)
- Pat out on on floured surface and make a 10 x 15 rectangle.
- Sprinkle dough with taco meat, cheese, green chilis, and tomatoes.
- Starting with the long edge, roll up taco fillings into a log. Seal the long edge.
- Slice log into 12 or 16 even sections with a sharp knife.
- Place twelve slices into the 9 x 13 pan, and let rise until doubled, about an hour.
(if you use the cupcake pan, slice into 16 pieces and place 4 in cupcake pan)
- Sprinkle additional cheese on top of each roll. Bake for 35 to 30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown.
